Spring is here! And that means warmer weather and açaí bowl season! I love a fresh acai bowl any time of the year, but there’s something extra special about them as the summer months approach. There’s plenty of açaí and smoothie bowl places in Baltimore and DC, but what about in Annapolis? I’ve scoped out the best açaí bowls in the area, and I made a list of my five favorites. Save these to your Google maps because you won’t want to miss out these bowls this summer.

Rise Up is number one on my list and my favorite açaí bowl in Annapolis. You might tell yourself, “I’ll just make a smoothie bowl at home!” But once you try Rise Up’s açaí bowl… you won’t make a homemade bowl anymore. They’re worth every penny because they’re blended to perfection and generous with the serving size and toppings. It’s become my go-to weekend treat, and they serve them until 3pm, which means you can sleep in until noon and still have time to grab one. Rise Up also has lots of vegetarian breakfast options, like breakfast burritos and baked goods. And don’t forget about the amazing coffee! There are several locations in Annapolis and throughout Maryland.

Rutabaga is a juicery with locations in Annapolis and Crofton. Their menu is creative, with lots of smoothies, juices, açaí bowls, and toasts, like chickpea salad and brownie batter. They also have lunch bowls, like their Thai Veggie and Green Goddess Bowl. Rutabaga is another spot that just makes you feel like a million bucks because their ingredients are so fresh, and their menu has so much variety. The Annapolis location has a drive-thru, which is super convenient, and the vibe is modern, earthy, and fresh. I usually stop here when I’m headed to downtown Annapolis.

Pura Vida Bowls & Java is a food truck located off of Ritchie Highway, serving fresh and yummy açaí bowls. They have quick service, and you can customize your açaí bowl and toppings. They serve Rise Up Coffee and Michele’s Granola, which are both local to Maryland. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day, and it’s super dog friendly with outdoor seating. I’m hoping one day they open a storefront!

Robeks is a juice shop that serves açaí bowls, açaí smoothies, classic and superfood smoothies, fresh juices, and toasts. It’s located in Annapolis Harbour Center, which makes it a great place to stop while you’re out shopping. They use quality ingredients, and you can customize your açaí/smoothie bowl. Everything on their menu just makes you feel good when you’re eating it, and you can see the fresh veggies from behind the counter. This place is the real deal. Outside of Maryland, they have locations in Arlington, VA and DC. I especially love the Green Bliss bowl with honey drizzled on top.

Sandy Pony Donuts started out as a food truck, selling donuts on Chincoteague Island. Their delicious donuts became popular, and they now have four Maryland storefront locations, including one in Annapolis. While the donuts are the star of the show, they also serve smoothies, bubble tea, and of course, açaí bowls! This is your one stop shop for something sweet (donuts) and something fresh (açaí bowls).
